Hand painted ombr with galloping horses

Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake Fondant and paste colours What are you most proud of? The horses as I have always drawn them badly! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make sure the fondant sets before painting as it will soften during the painting.

Q&A with suzanne.o1332488

cristalk@aol.com asked:
Love this cake! How did you achieve the technique on the fondant? Thanks for sharing.
suzanne.o1332488 answered:
Thank you. I coloured the icing a pale pink and then watered down pink gel colour with white, then watered it down with boiled water. I used a wide watercolour brush and just built up the colour, as in a painting, adding some purple streaks too. When it had dried I painted on the sihilouettes.
