Fashion Inspired Ombre Cake

Project Description

Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake Lots of fondant and lots of patience! Roses are handcrafted out of cold porcelain to make them a little more robust for transport to a wedding fair. What are you most proud of? That I didn't throw the fondant out of the window when trying to work out how to graduate the colours. What advice would you give someone starting this project? I think you just have to go for it and do it. I tried to prep a lot, but ended up winging a lot of the shading.

CakeBakerMoney answered:
Thank you Old Creamery. I tried to work out fondant quantities using all sorts of equations before I started, but in the end most of the colour graduation was done by instinct as I went along.
