Elegant Lady - Art Deco

Project Description

Do you sell this cake? No, just for fun Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake I made this cake on cake dummies as I would like to use it for a display in the future for my cake business I am developing slowly. My inspiration came from the Art Deco lessons I took on Craftsy. I also tapped into my lead light skills and looked for patterns in my leadlight pattern books but could not find what I was looking for so used odd shapes to develop my own pattern. The elegant 1930's lady I got my inspiration for from a greeting card but used my own color scheme. This cake won First Prize and the Kumeu Show Cake Decorating section for wedding cakes, so as you can imagine I am thrilled with the 92% out of 100 it was given. Had a lot of fun making this cake.

Hi, I wanted to congratulate you on your stunning cake, please can you tell me which is made woman? is royal icing? thank you very much
Sashad answered:
I made the ladies frame from pastilage and then decorated the details with fondant. For the folds of the dress and shawl I added Tylose to the fondant so that it would hold the folds. I hope this is helpful.
