Coming up roses wedding cake

Project Description

Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake 50/50 gum paste and fondant used to make flowers, leafs and curliques. Rest of cake was buttercream with a pearl border mold done with fondant for bottom of tiers. Candy pearls used on side of cake in triangle piped with buttercream.

It was carrot cake! I basically use box cake mixes and doctor them for my elevation and tastes. This one added crushed pineapple with the oil, eggs and water. I always freeze after baking and before decorating so you have a firm settled cake to work on.
