Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake Almond cake, Coconut & Pineapple cakes - each tier was a different flavor. Icing, Icing, Icing - gumpaste, fondant, pearl dust What are you most proud of? I thought my roses came out pretty good. I still have a ton of work to do on perfecting that craft but I did try and mix the gumpaste to fondant equally this time so that I could have it hold up better in the end and yet stay a little more pliable when molding. Still want to try a few different ways to do roses for the future but for now...no too bad. What advice would you give someone starting this project? This was a delivery of an hour so i decided that with the tiers being three layers and no fondant to hold together, I wasn't going to stack it and then carry - I"M SOOO GLAD I DID....that road was bumpy and long, so it would never have made it in one piece without squishing the layers and icing. Keep that in mind when planning on doing a cke for someone. It could save the life of the cake - to put it together there vs. before you travel!
