Q&A with The Last Course Bakery

Lulucakes asked:
So cool, may I please ask what you used to color the flower? Just love that color
The Last Course Bakery answered:
Hey! It was really just tinkering. I started with a mixture of blue and light green wilton melts for the candy clay, and then I'm pretty sure I added some blue candy color while kneading the clay. I hope that helps!
Lora F asked:
I love the bling on this! Is that some sort of edible gem, or just strands of rhinestones or something? Did you put that on at the same time you layered your fondant chevrons on, or was that added by hand later? I plan to make a cake with vertical stripes and the idea of adding a row of stones of some sort is very appealing.
The Last Course Bakery answered:
Hey! The bling is called "glam cake ribbon," you can find it on amazon or cake supply sites. It's plastic and pretty easy to cut on the diagonal. If you wanted an even bigger shine, there is a crystal banding you can by, with real crystals. That stuff gets pretty pricey though. ;)
