No, just for fun Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake I created a number of different flowers from royal icing: violets, apple blossoms, roses, primroses, wild roses. For some, I used the brush striping method that Beth demonstrated to add a little color to the petal edge. The cake was torted and filled with raspberry jam, then iced with buttercream frosting. I used a basket weave technique around the cake, then placed my flowers to partially cover the top, flowing down one side of the cake in a cascade. What are you most proud of? The way the flowers drape over the edge of the cake and the harmony of color.
