"Hello Kitty Meets Chevron" Cake

Project Description

Share a little about the materials, processes, and techniques used to create this cake MMF, Sharp X-acto knife or blade, Wax paper, Ruler, Scissors, Vegetable shortening, Scotch tape, Template printed and cut to-scale, Fondant cutter/roller, Clear vanilla extract, Clean brush (paint brush) What are you most proud of? I'm proud that I pulled off, not only this cake, but my son's as well (they are twins). But I was so pleased to be able to nail the chevron design which, while a bit time consuming, was not as difficult as I had imagined. And it looks so clean and sharp! What advice would you give someone starting this project? Plan, plan, plan. For me, the most time-consuming part of any project is the research and idea stage. Once I know what I'm doing, the design, the rest is just execution. Make sure you have all your tools on hand and even have a back-up plan (mine was going to be polka dots if the chevron didn't work out!)
