At least a quarter of my knitting each year is for babies, and I'm guessing the same is true for you. Whether it's a knitted baby shower gift or just a cute knitting pattern for babies that I can't pass on, I'm constantly casting on tiny little knits.
Besides being completely adorable, knitted baby shower gifts are also very personal. Check out our knitting patterns for babies that suit every type of mom you know, whether she's traditional, modern, or just a fan of Bob Marley. (Wait 'til you see the pattern we have in mind for the latter!) Prepare for major cuteness ahead.

No matter the gender, there's nothing more classic than a beautiful white baby blanket. The blanket uses an Irish moss stitch, as well as bluebell stitch. Feel free to add embellishments to the blanket, like flowers or another little touch to make the blanket even more special.

A traditional baby layette gets a modern makeover when it's knit up in bright, modern colors. Get super modern when you mix 'n' match coordinating colors for each piece in the set, including a blanket, booties, mitts, hat and a cardigan. The blanket is available in three sizes, so you can hook the modern mom up with a blanket for the car seat, swaddling, or a larger blanket for when the baby grows to be a toddler.

I dare you to find a knitting pattern for babies that's more fun and unique than this set of zigzag two-color knit accessories, including a hat, scarf and mittens. Choose a color palette in the fun mom's favorite colors, or just use primary colors.

Moms with an eye for vintage style will adore this knitted bunny toy. Fiber fill makes the bunny super soft and cuddly -- the perfect first toy for any baby. Want to knit more than one toy? Check out the equally cute elephant, bunny and hippo in Craftsy's Wee Ones: Seamless Knit Toys, taught by Susan B. Anderson.

I know, I know. This hat is crazy, but a new mom who's a fan of Bob Marley will get a real kick out of it, don't you think? The dreadlocks are made of soft, felted yarn so the hat isn't too heavy -- especially if the baby is only wearing it for a photo op.

Simple worsted-weight yarn is all you need to make up these football booties. Designer whiteflowerneedle even provides video how-tos to get you through the tricky parts, which is really helpful if you've never knit booties before.
Do you have a knitting pattern for babies on your needles right now? Any plans to make a knitted baby shower gift this year?
