The Craftsy Frightening Halloween Contest has come to an end. Many incredible projects were entered, ranging from cute to spooky to just plain scary!
Our first place winner, whose project had the most hearts of every entry, is Craftsy user martij30 who created the Halloween Quilt pictured above. Martij30 used the Moda Trick or Treat Jelly Roll by Deb Strain to create this frighteningly fabulous Halloween quilt complete with bats, spiders, witch hats, and more! The combination of green, purple, orange, and black, really makes the quilt come to life with Halloween flair. You can find the pattern for this quilt at the Moda Bake Shop website. If you’re interested in learning how to create beautiful quilts with easy-to-use precuts like Martji30 did, try taking our Craftsy class Magical Jelly Roll Quilts with Kimberly Einmo for 25% off! You’ll make terrific patterns including Jacob’s Ladder, Chain Saw, Lonestar, Strip Magic, Easy Charm Cathedral Window, and Flying Geese Crossing, in addition to learning numerous tips and tricks for working with jelly rolls, pre-cuts, or other fabrics from your stash.
Second place goes to Craftsy user Jasmine Griffin for her Classy Pumpkin cupcake topper! The filigree design combined with miniature pumpkins made from fondant, gumpaste, and royal icing, truly scream Halloween! And of course the holiday wouldn’t be complete without a decorated pumpkin. Craftsy user Dializ came in third with her Zentangle Pumpkin. She used a Styrofoam pumpkin and a Sharpie oil based paint pin to complete this funky, tribal design. Both of these entries are pictured below.
We hope you all had a terrific Halloween and thank you to everyone who participated in our Frightening Halloween Contest. Stay tuned for more Craftsy blog contests and giveaways to come!
