Everywhere we look, vintage is in. The popularity of AMC’s hit series Mad Men, among other contributing factors, has spiked the rise of vintage-inspired sewing, including dresses, skirts, shirts, and more! Sewists these days are constantly looking to the past to draw inspiration for future projects. Find inspiration on Pinterest and then take a look at the following Craftsy projects to see how sewists have captured the vintage look so perfectly!
Swishy Couture Dress, made by Craftsy member Kir, has a vintage flair and is made with blue gabardine. When asked what she's most proud of with her swishy masterpiece, Kir responded: "I love how swishy this dress is! I added horsehair braid to the hem and it really helps to give this dress the body I was looking for. It's a blast to twirl around in it. I'm also proud of the inside which looks almost as good as the outside. The bra carriers were a revelation - this has solved a common sleeveless dress issue for me. Yay!"
