Guest Blog Post: Creative Design on Creative Holidays

Let's make it a Creative Holiday!

In this guest post designer and craftsy workshop instructor Sheila of Creative Design shares her thoughts on why it's wonderful to make your own holiday gifts.

Who doesnʼt love a hand knit or crocheted gift? So carefully chosen and made with
love! Scarves, mittens, socks, hats, toys, cup cozies, sweaters, blankets, cowls a
veritable plethora of squishy goodness! If you are lucky enough to get such a gift,
cherish it! In my knitwear shop, every item is sent with a “Care Instructions” card that
reads: Love me!...Use me!...Wash me!...Mend me if need be! I donʼt want anyone to
leave a hand made, knit or crocheted with love gift, in the box! Wear it out! We are
happy to make another, are we not?

We are a hurry up society! Instant gratification for all! Hurry up and get there! Hurry up
and leave! Hurry up and log on! Hurry up...the holidays are here! Maybe now isnʼt the
time to knit a sweater, but a hat, headband, scarf or cowl...can do!

Knitting can be a time to relax. Cozy up in your favorite chair, turn on the cd, tv, radio or
book on tape. Listen to the click clack of your aluminum needles as you knit or the
silence of your hook. Feel the wool in between your fingers as you happily knit 1 purl 2,
or single and double crochet!

Make this the year to give the gift of love! Hand made especially for your loved ones!
