I LOVE this pie, julie4436421!!!! What a beauty! I would like to reach right through the frame and glass with a big spoon. Gold-star crust too. I think you must be very proud. I would love to know how you treated the lovely acorn-cutouts, to attach them to the piecrust. Liquid? And you couldn't have pressed down TOO hard to make them stay, because the design is still clear and dear. Tell me more when you have time.

Thanks so much! I brushed egg wash on the crust edge. Then I put one acorn on, brushed the bottom of that one and then gently layed the next acorn on the bottom of the first. Then repeated all the way around. Once all were in place, I brushed egg wash over all the acorns, and then baked. I made sure to watch for browning, and I did put foil around the edges about halfway into baking to make sure it didn't burn. Thanks for giving me the encouragement to start baking pies! I'm really enjoying it!
