Right around Christmas, we’re all bursting with creativity. We love seeing that creativity come to life, whether it’s in the form of a quilt, a painting, a cake or… a poem? You bet!
The sweet poem below comes from Mary Evelyn Anderson, who’s not just a passionate Craftsy member, but also the mother of a member of the Craftsy crew. To spread some holiday cheer to our office, Mary Evelyn sent us a crafty rendition of a classic Christmas poem. We hope it brings as many smiles to your home as it brought to our office.
‘Twas the weeks before Christmas and all through the room
there was knitting, and purling…the needles a-zoom.
The stockings, oh my, with six to be made
either hung from the mantle or hearth neatly laid.
They’ll be red; they’ll be green – a ribbon of plaid trim
filled with fruits and candy up to the brim.
My stocking supplies lined up ready to start
with yarn, needles and markers each playing their part.
And I, in my sweatpants and snuggly wool socks
settled down to begin what promises to rock!
When all of a sudden, there arose a brain clatter
I put down my knitting, to think “What’s the darn matter?”
Away from my chair I flew like a kite,
tore open my laptop and pulled up the site.
When what to my appreciative eyes did appear —
creative ideas…NOT eight tiny reindeer.
My fingers on the keyboard so excited and quick
discovered all kinds of gifts – crafty and slick!
The Slouchy, the Sweet Pea and cable twist hat
a turtle, an elephant, and even a blue cat.
Craftsy – a place of ideas galore
no longer the need to visit a store.
With a click of a key, you can order it all
from the pattern to materials and then have a ball.
So back to my cozy chair to continue to knit
the Christmas tree decorated, dimly lit.
Wishing you this season a holiday cheer,
and remember…your Craftsy family is always near.
