Quilting: Charm Pack Tote

Charm Pack Tote

Sew a fashionable patchwork bag

rating
6 reviews

Learn to sew this charming tote! Because it's roomy, lined, and has an inside pocket, the tote makes a perfect daily carryall, project bag, or handmade gift.

The patchwork piecing is made using pre-cut "charm" squares. Creating new treasures using pre-cuts gives you the chance to use several prints from a favorite fabric line or designer. It also saves time by eliminating some cutting. The hardest part is choosing a charm pack!

In this Workshop, I'll teach you basic patchwork piecing and how to construct the lined bag through step-by-step instructions, supported by lots of detailed photos. I will also show you how to embellish your bag with some embroidery and hand-sew handles on the bag for the perfect finishing touch.

If you have any questions along the way, I'm here to help! Once you learn the basic steps to construct this bag, the sky is the limit on how you can customize and create one-of-a-kind bags for you and your friends.

SadieFox

Hi! My name is Sadie Fox Metter. I have been crafting and sewing for as long as I can remember. In fact, I come from a long line of sewing women. My mom was a 4-H sewing champion when she was little and my 85 year old grandmother still sews the most amazing doll clothes. Everything I know I learned from them. I love to share this knowledge and my passion for fabric, fashion and sewing with others. I teach others how to sew at a craft boutique in Denver, Colorado. I'm a wife and a mother of two crafty little girls. Sewing and crafting overlaps nicely with some of my other interests too, including care for the environment, buying handmade, and the spiritual benefits of doing-it-yourself.

Excellent Midway through my 1st project and Sew Excited!  March 8, 2013

I chose this workshop 1st because it is so adorable and 2nd, as a newbie it seemed like a good start to learn how to sew. I am posting this review now before I'm finished because I just want to share how helpful the instructor is and as it's coming together I am really delighted and grateful to Sadie for sharing her talent and gifts, Mahalo!

Excellent Floral Charm Bag  February 12, 2013

Wow! I didn't think this would work out, but magically it did. Very fun construction! And it only took one afternoon. I was even able to use up some "garage sale" fabric squares. I'll be making more of these soon.
