Salves are easy, handy, healing skin-savers and great to carry in your purse or pocket. Most commercial salves like Vaseline are made with petroleum products which are bad for the environment and many believe bad for your skin. Salves can take a myriad of possible forms: from the vapor rub which you will learn to make in this workshop, to a cuticle ointment, a foot balm ... the list is as long as your creativity.
A body butter is pretty much heaven for your skin. Nothing feels so decadent as to slather yourself in an all-natural body butter from face to toes. And the best part is that it is so easy to make that you will never have to pay for an overpriced, chemical-filled moisturizer again!
Everybody uses lip balm so it's the perfect gift for men, women and children for every occasion. It is easy and inexpensive to make and soothes the sensitive skin of your lips without polluting them with a petroleum-based product. You can put lip balm into tubes, jars or cute slider tins. You can add color, essential oils or flavor oils depending on your mood. By adding color, you can make your own lip gloss which is good considering the FDA recently found lead in over 400 lipsticks that they tested. So make your pucker perfect without poisoning yourself or your family!

A former TV producer, Alia Einstein-Diez started making bath and body crafts soon after her daughter was born. Having always been hypersensitive to chemicals and fragrances in commercial products (even so-called 'natural' body products), when her baby turned out to be equally sensitive she started making her own soaps, herbal oils, butters, bath bombs and much more. Once she started, she couldn't stop! At first she gave all of her extra all-natural bath creations to friends and family. Finally, she started her own business Gaia's Kiss. A crafting maniac and passionate about all-things-hand-made, Alia is always looking for ways to add more crafting creativity to the business - such as making soap sacks, hand-made soap dishes, shaving mugs, and putting herbs she grows in her garden into her products. Alia lives in Denver with her husband, daughter, son and shetland sheepdog.
