I have been doing plastic canvas for thirty-two years, knitting for twenty-eight years and crocheting for four years. I can't think of the title of the plastic canvas booklet that got me started, but it was from the early 80's, and it had a "gingerbread house" treat holder as one item on the cover. I can't think of the title of the plastic canvas booklet that got me started, but it was from the early 80's, and it had a "gingerbread house" treat holder as one item on the cover. My mother had my three sisters and I help her stitch the holder for our grandparents. When I was about sixteen, I used another book to teach myself knitting. I didn't figure out crochet until a few years ago, when I wanted to make "Wow Wow Wubbzy" toys for my younger nephew. (I used to confuse slip stitches with single crochets!)
