As far back as I can remember I have been crafting and creating. When I was younger, each school holidays my mother would bring me home a crafting kit. The first one I recall was a felt kit to make three blind mice. I stitched up the pieces, filled them and embroidered little eyes, nose and whiskers on the felt mice.
Over the years my mother taught me to sew, knit and do embroidery stitches, as well as long stitch and cross stitch projects.
I don't think I was happy unless I was creating.
And that still applies today.
I have learned the beautiful craft of stained glass.
I love to draw and paint with acrylics.
And I guess other crafters will relate when I say I don't seem to be completely happy unless I have more than one project going on at the same time.
Now my attention is on jewellery making, with a particular interest in wire wrapping. Currently I am learning as much as I can and because there are no classes in the area I live, all my learning is through reading or online lessons and classes.
I'm so happy there are sites such as craftsy, it doesn't matter what part of the world you live in, as long as you have an internet connection, you can learn something new and create something wonderful.
