A neighbor taught me to do embroidery when I was 4 yrs old, a red teacup and saucer on a tea towel. I have been crafting in some way ever since. I made most of my own clothes since I was a teen. I worked as a pattern maker for a number of years and then taught pattern making and draping for more years. I have a way too extensive craft library.
