I started quilting in high school when I wanted to make a baby quilt for my youth pastor. I designed a pattern I later learned to call windmill! I cut out cardboard templates out of a cereal box, went and bought a bunch of flannel and poly blend fabric, traced around the templates with a ball point pen, cut them out with pinking shears, sewed them together with some kind of 5/8 inch seams, and tied the quilt. Man was I proud of that thing. I was hooked! Ever since I've been quilting and my tastes and styles of quilts have changed over the years. I'm currently making more modern looking quilts, but I still have a fondness for English Medallion quilts.
