I started quilting in high school when I wanted to make a baby quilt for my youth pastor. I designed a pattern I later learned to call windmill! I cut out cardboard templates out of a cereal box, went and bought a bunch of flannel and poly blend fabric, traced around the templates with a ball point pen, cut them out with pinking shears, sewed them together with some kind of 5/8 inch seams, and tied the quilt.
