I have been crafting since the Dark Ages. My first teachers were my mother and grandmother who taught me to hand sew doll dresses (the ones with no shape and look like a T-shirt), crochet and knitting. In Girl Scouts I learned to do all kinds of crafting such as making a sit-upon with woven pieces of newspaper (my first recycled project). I have done beading, card making, ceramics, anything that involves a needle or hook, quilting, and folk painting. I sewed my wedding gown and made many things for my children including their baptismal gown which was also worn by their children (my first heirloom).
I am a retired nurse, have a husband who fly fishes and ties his own flies. We have 3 sons, 2 gorgeous daughter-in-laws, 2 grndsons and 1 beautiful granddaughter.
I belong to a Knit and Crochet Club at my church and we make chemo caps and afghans for MD Anderson in Houston. We also make baby caps for the neighborhood hospital.
