A friend of mine inspired me with simple nine patches back in the early eighties, while another gave me boxes of fabric scraps at around the same time. In one year I made five quilts and sold every one in the military town we lived in. Collecting and working with fabric in quilting and sewing became my favorite past time and led me to try other things over the years. Since then I have become advanced in crochet and counted cross stitch. I have done other crafts like punch embroidery, rug hooking, scrap booking, and painting on canvas and ceramics, but sewing remains my favorite thing to do. I started out with a cast iron machine that did a straight sticth in two directions (back and forth) only. Now, 30 years later, I have a machine that allows me to create my own quilts and quilt designs. Even with all the advance functions I still love getting back to basics, and having the teachers and peers to work with on Craftsy makes it so much fun. I don't feel like I ever work alone anymore.
I'm glad to meet you, and thanks to all of you for your inspiration and ideas.
