When I can (I have a 40+ hour job) I am actively involved in quilting, crochet, cross-stitch, and spinning (so far!). My mother taught me to sew and crochet, my grandmother taught me to quilt (tied quilts). I taught myself how to hand quilt. I am now expanding into learning to spin on a drop spindle and to machine quilt on my wonderful Brother sewing machine.
