I'm a Wilton instructor, have been for 8 years now. Before that I was an art teacher, 15 years. I have cooked, baked, painted, sewn, gold leafed, done embroidery, and a myriad of things along the way. Got started in cake due to the fact that my granddaughter wanted a fondant cake for her birthday and she is lactose intolerant, as am I. Took some classes at Micheal's and I've been on a roll since! I taught (years ago) French Cooking for 2 years, having learned by watching (and reading) Julia Child (and lot's of practice)! I took the Wilton classes and have been self taught the rest of the way. (Our classes are better now since they have updated them, the fondant is much more inclusive.) Reading is a way of life for me, I've now acquired an extensive array of books and magazines for cakes. I have two daughters and a granddaughter, plus a wonderful son-in-law, as well as a great man in my life. Due to fact that I can't eat any dairy now, at all, I have developed cakes and things that reflect that. I've even learned to make a dairy-free ganash! Learning is as important to me as is living so I plan to continue on adding things that enrich my life. I'm having fun.
