I learned to knit when I was four or five. I remember pink plastic needles about 7" long. My Scottish grandmother was a talented seamstress and both she and my mother were excellent knitters. I've knit for friends in high school (we all had matching mitts) and then for my own family of four. Now I've rediscovered my enjoyment in knitting and have many young neices/nephews and children of family friends to satisfy my constant need to pick up the needles.
I spent many years sewing clothes for myself and my children, absolutely loved the quilting resurgence for 10 or more years and took up beadwork and jewellery making a few years back as well. I guess I am truly a "Craftsy" person.
