My mother and two sisters all made things - in our family you didn't buy anything unless you couldn't work out how to make it yourself! We did buy supplies, but we had a huge family stash of stuff and made do with what was there most of the time.

I have my own Etsy shop where I sell jewellery - some of it combines jewellerymaking skills with knitting and crochet.
