I started hand sewing when I was about six years old. I use to watch my Grandma make things on her treadle sewing machine. She used clothes, blankets, what ever was available to make quilts, bonnets and aprons. That was because she lived through the Great Depression Era. I still have my little green apron she made from a worn out dress. From the size of it I'd say I was about 4 or 5. She was a great inspiration for me.
