Grew up Air Force gypsy, traveling around the world, exposed to many cultures and art forms. We had artists in the family back to Thomas Moran, my paternal grandfather was a well-known artist and architect, and my mom eventually became a graphic designer. Sold paintings in high school, but gave in to college and a "real job" in computers, then decided to go back to my roots after 10 years.
Started with a variety of fiber arts, home dec and art to wear out of galleries in San Antonio. Moved to the Santa Fe area, took private and college classes in weaving, spinning, dyeing, loom building, basketry, continued collaborating with designer friends on gallery commissions and high end artwear, and participated in shows with 3 weaving guilds.
Relocated to take care of my mom, and started over here by returning to college for a degree in Advertising & Graphic design, for which I am now a part-time Adjunct Instructor teaching illustration and graphic design courses. In the process, I have returned to drawing, painting, mixed media, and collage, as well as continuing with weaving, felting, sewing and beading.
