I taught myself shuttle tatting when I was 18 years old, so I have been tatting 41 years and I am sure Marilee can teach me something new, modern tatting, yes tatting has changed over the years, when I taught myself we did not use beads or accessories, it was just hanky edgings and doily's etc.
I live in Somerset which is the west country of England, its a lovely area of England to live, I got married ten years in August for the first time, and tatting was a big thing in my wedding, I had tatted butterflies on my dress fluttering up the back and the bridesmaids had them on their dresses and shawls, the bouquets and posies had them sewn onto the silk flowers and the favours had a butterfly on each, I made nearly 100 butterflies, I was dreaming the pattern in the end, each butterfly took about an hour to tat.
I am really looking forward to doing this course and thank you Marilee for doing the course.
