At 10 years old I saw that my grandmother had unearthed a sewing machine from a what previously had been an end table, as far as I had known and I immediately fell in love. I wanted to know what that machine could do. Soon I was taking my first sewing lesson in a nearby store learning to make a shift. There was no end to what this machine could do and I wanted to experience all of it. I was soon working with the new fabric (lycra) in the 1970's making costumes for dancers and eventually found myself at F.I.T. studying Pattern Making and earning my tailoring certificate. I spent a number of years making custom dresses and home accessories. I'm coming back to sewing after an absence of a number of years and still can't learn enough about this wonderful art. I am so grateful for your website and all it offers. Just started taking the Susan Khalje dress class. Wishing everyone happy sewing.
