My mom actually got me started with cake decorating. When my sister was getting married my mom decided she could decorate her wedding cake and took some classes at our high school.
Watching her practice making loops, scrolls, leaves and roses was just fascinating. The Wilton books (wish I had them now) were interesting and made it seem so easy. I already loved baking and now I could add to it with decorating.
