I used to be quite involved in ceramics and then my Mother got me started on quilting. Needless to say the ceramics is a distant memory. I love going into my fabric room and seeing my rather large stash, it reminds me of the feeling you get when your pantry is full and a winter storm is raging outside., I especially enjoy learning new techniques, purchasing new fabric and choosing which fabric to use for a project. I have almost completed a Thimbleberries BOM (just need to do the binding and label) for my Son and Daughter-in-laws wedding. I don't enjoy the finishing work very much and as a result have about 35 UFOs. I pull them out every once in a while, do a little work on it and then store it away again. I prefer wall hangings and small projects, the largest one I ever did was the BOM one and that was very difficult on my machine. I like contemporary with brilliant colours and love mixed media.
I have a kitten named Seymour who likes to keep me company in my sewing room, no more thread chasing thank goodness. I have a lovely design wall at the bottom of the basement stairs and he was facinated with the fabric hanging up, found several projects on the floor after he had his fun. He has grown out of that so now I am able to put a project up and leave it up for some time.
I really am enjoying the Craftsy web site, have taken almost all of the quilting courses and am waiting for more...
