When I was 12 and my oldest sister 16, she had the unbelievable patience to teach me how to lay out a pattern. She explained all the symbols, terms, sewing order etc. Had it not been for her inspiring me at that age to sew, I would never have enjoyed over 40 years of sewing as I have!
Throughout the years, I have sewn about every craft possible, made my children clothes until they reached the peer pressure middle school years, untold household projects. I've even created patterns for accessories that I sold through various means online and at shows. If it has to do with sewing, I'm interested! now, enjoying full immersion into quilting!
My latest love is quilting! I recently purchased a Sweet Sixteen mid arm quilting machine and will enjoy practicing and learning the joys of free motion quilting. The possibilities are now truly endless!
In between making gift quilts for family and friends and special orders for customers, I make unique and fun quilts for Project Linus. Project Linus is a national program for people to make quilts and blankets for very sick children in hospitals. Since I began quilting in May 2012, I have donated 12 quilts as of December 2012. I will continue to donate to this very worthy and wonderful cause as long as I can sew!
