I learned to knit from my mum and her mum and branched out into crochet in my teens. I then began making my own clothes and made many of my children's clothes (sewing and knitting) in the 70's and 80's. As my children grew I began to work as a primary teacher and that left very little time for anything creative! Then a couple of years ago, as I approached retirement, a friend asked if I could make bunting for her wedding and I got my sewing maching out of the cupboard for the first time in many, many years (I even wondered if I'd remember how to thread it up!). I realised just how much I'd missed being creative and have now bought a new machine and an embellisher. Now I'm retired, there's no stopping me!
