My sister taught me to sew in junior high school. I can still remember the dress we made. Later when I got married, I made my wedding dress, 2 of my bridesmaids dresses and the flower girl's dress. I kept sewing when my children were young then when they got more involved in school activities and work interfered, it got put on hold. A couple of years ago, my parents needed extra help so I quit work to lend a hand. After a while I found I had some free time on my hands and when I found out our son and his wife were expecting, I decided I had to make a quilt for the new granddaughter. Then I made quilts for the 2 grandsons and kept on quilting. Now we have another granddaughter on the way and I have a quilt all ready for her arrival. I'm involved in the local quilt guild and enjoy trying new ways to piece and passing these ideas on the the other member in the guild.
