I started crafting when I was a child. I watched my mom, her sister and cousins get together in the afternoons and work on crochet bed dolls, pineapple doilies, crochet bedspreads, vests and hats to sell to co-workers and friends. I started crafting when I was a child. I watched my mom, her sister and cousins get together in the afternoons and work on crochet bed dolls, pineapple doilies, crochet bedspreads, vests and hats to sell to co-workers and friends. My mom was also a seamstress and made all my clothes as a child. I love the calmness that surrounds the atmosphere of crochet, sewing and handcrafts. I taught myself to do most of the things I do. I still consider myself an amateur and I love to learn new crafts. When my children were younger, I quilted or crocheted their blankets,layettes and baby clothes. Now that I am retired and a new grand mom, I have a brand new little person to crochet, knit and sew for!! The inspiration that I get from the online classes and the crafters here, reminds me of the craft-get-togethers my family members did when I was a child. Only now, its online!
