Became disabled from rare illness and always made jewelry from pieces from using earrings to make necklaces etc. Never knew I would start for a hobby. My sister gave me my first kit (tools beads etc) and then family members followed with gifts and gift cards to get me going and keep me inspired. I am new to this and want to try everything but it takes me longer due to illness but I love it. I recenrly made a couple necklaces to hold glasses for my sister and a worker at a store loved my designs and asked my sis if I could make one for her and her sister. That was a great feeling and inspiration for mem a mom of 3 son'sand a grandmother of 2 girls and 1 boy. My sons are the best and supportme in this as well as my husband. Especially my husband as we all know how our "beading nest" can look like when we are in our creative zones. This is a great site (from what i see and read) for support and inspiration. I'm happy to be part of this family (unlike the non existing support for my illness.. so. This is what keeps my spirits up and gives me something to look forward to no matter how long it takes me. I also have a huge selection of books on beading and stringing and chainmaille etc. thank you
