Hi My name's Stephanie and here's a little of my story as a jewelry maker. Hi My name's Stephanie and here's a little of my story as a jewelry maker. I came to jewelry making kind of by the back door; Basically, I was TOLD to find a hobby (if you want more of that particular story, e-mail me - too embarrassing to put it out to the whole world). I had tried many different things througout my life, but nothing ever stuck. I'd start out very fired up over my new "thing," spend lot's of money on materials, books, tools - you name it! A month later would find me bored to tears - and frustrated with the sometimes drawn out learning process. It was very different with making jewelry. I still spent money on all the above mentioned stuff...but i didn't give up on it. I expanded upon it! It's a BIG deal for me to have "stuck" with anything so long (started making jewelry in '04) having ADD means that I AM easily bored and frustrated, but with jewelry making there's always another technique to try, or a variation, or breaking new ground oneself. Because of the boredom factor, I make OOAK's - while a project can prove frustrating, it's tempered with an urgent need to see the project completed. If I attempt the same project for a second time, it's not only boring - it's tedious too, and will often go unfinished. Steph
