I enjoy creating "Art You Can Wear". I create one-of-a-kind, original designs in jewelry from my fused glass pendants and my handmade (lampwork) glass beads. I also hand paint my original designs on silk, and create original designs in other fiber arts.
I started working with stained glass and precious metals in college in the mid 1980's, majoring in Jewelry Design. Several years later, I learned glass fusing and slumping/firing glass in a kiln. In August of 2004 I bought a glass bead making kit and taught myself to make glass beads (lampworking).
I taught myself to knit when I was 12 years old and took my knitting to school. I knitted myself headbands and pretty soon was knitting headbands for all my friends charging five cents each, which was my first adventure into selling my original creations. I learned to crochet at 17. After about a 25 year sabbatical from needle arts, I took up knitting and crochet again about 4 years ago. I find needle arts very relaxing after a long day of work. I have adventured into writing my own patterns this past year and adding my original fiber arts designs to my "Art You Can Wear" line.
