I started sewing when I was nine years old. The first thing I sewed on a machine was a jumper for my Barbie; a hemmed plaid square with shoulder straps that snapped up the back. I also learned to embroider then, doing a project for a geography unit on Switzerland. My most rejuvenating hobby is gardening, with sewing, spinning and knitting coming close behind.
