I am in my mid-thirties and have been knitting since I was 18. I had to learn the hard way and took me a while to follow a pattern because there was nobody to show me how to read a pattern. I have been knitting on an off since then. I work full time and have 2 children (5 and 14), I knit in whatever spare time I get! I have knitted a shawl, baby booties, a baby bonnet, a few scarfs, a good few jumpers but only recently ventured into toy knitting and it has been a very big hit with work colleagues, family and friends. Everybody is harassing me for the giraffe. I really don't know where I will find the time to do all the requests! I am knitting a lamb right now (the head and body is looking like Sid from Ice Age at the moment aaarrrrggghhh), so let's see how I get on. I will post the project when I'm done. I am also a keen jewellery maker. I work with semi-precious and glass beads (preferably antique).I have sold some of my work to work colleagues and I take requests for bespoke necklaces and earrings. I love working with and wearing pearls too. Recently though knitting is taking all my spare time and I love to keep busy with that.
