I started when I was a child while staying at my grandmother's home.
She was an artist and while she painted at one side of her studio. I was right under her nose on the other side of the table and told to, "Waist paper or material and make something worth keeping".

She was an artist and while she painted at one side of her studio. I was right under her nose on the other side of the table and told to, "Waist paper or material and make something worth keeping".
When she was sewing I was sorting and sewing something as well. The best present she ever gave me was a flat wooden doll figure cut out of plywood and painted like a paper doll with no cloths on. This gift included a box of material scraps and a sewing box full of notions and thread. I got to design and sew and glue and whatever I wanted to do to cloth my doll. This is how I began to sew.
Today..... because of craftsy I'm back into quilting and quilts.
