How did I start crafting?: By bumbling around. I made doll clothes when I was a little girl and I was good at it! My mother encouraged me by providing me with materials to play with. I sewed them all by hand.
No one told me there were careers associated with this kind of play so over time, I would say, I was simply lured into other interests. I have studied languages and art history, which I love, and advertising design which I love conceptually but not in practice (too much rushing around, deadlines, all-nighters), but I return time and again to design, color, fabrics, fabric design, clothing design.
And, as we know, life happens while we (think) we're making other plans, so here I am again, now with more time to play once again, so I've decided I want to play with sewing, quilting, and beading...
I am starting with sewing. From the start to learn it right this time.
