I started making jewelry when I was nine years old and my best friend Grace gave me a jewelry kit for my birthday. I had been making your typical 4-7 year old necklaces my whole life (you know, pony beads on lanyard in a random pattern), but this taught me that you can't just put random beads on a string and expect Mom to ACTUALLY wear it... I made my first pair of earrings, which is now my specialty, and Mom said WOW. Those are NICE. I got another kit that Christmas that had instructions on wire crafting, and it included my first pair of round-nose pliers/wire cutters. I went for a few years with just that, but then the Christmas when I was ten I decided I wanted a more detailed book on wire crafting. It told me what supplies I needed, such as chain-nose pliers and a hammer and bench block. I had my mom take me to A. C. Moore and with my remaining Christmas money and an A. C. Moore gift card, I was able to get more tools (and a lot of cool new beads). It was smooth sailing from there, with the occasional trip to the local bead stores. I mostly make earrings, but I will occasionally make an earring/necklace/bracelet set. I realise this was a kind of long bio, and if you are still reading this I am absolutely thrilled. Thank you very much for taking the time time to read my (albeit long) bio.
