Retired, Grandmother of 5, An avid crafter, Hand embroidery, Smocking Machine Embroidery, Sewing, Quilting, Knitting Crochet, Decoupage, Painting, & fabric painting. And yes there is time for everything, one project at a time.. I taught my self to do all of the above by buying magazines and following directions. My hubby read the knitting and crochet instructions whilst I tried the stitches. I have enjoyed myself thoroughly through the years and I'm rather proud of myself as no one else in my entire family does hand crafts.
We live in Nambia which is in Africa, we host the Etosha Game reserve - largest in the world. The Namib Desert - Oldest in the world. the Welwitchia Mirabalis - guess what, also the oldest in the world. We gained our independence 1990, have 11 ethnic languages. Sadly a lot of Uranium Mines- but this does help with work for many. We have a large fishing industry and we are steadily growing to be stronger and better developed country.
Back to the more important, As it is very hot here I only make quilts that are cool and use them as table cloths. Being so far from everything we have to import all our fabric and notions from South Africa or further afield, which is time consuming as our snail mail really is snail mail. With this class I think I will once again make a table cloth but this time for my daughter.
Thank you Craftsy for the opportunity.
