My maternal grandmother taught me basic knitting and hand sewing as a little girl. My interest only lasted a short while. My cousin got me interested in crocheting as a teenager. I took some needlework classes as an older teen. I dabbled in these until I attended college. All of these interests started up again in my late 20's as a young mother who wanted to make things for myself, children, and family. Full-time employment eventually put all of this on the back burner until my late 40's when I started back into sewing, knitting, and crocheting. I taught beginner sewing classes for awhile and taught a girlfriend how to do counted cross stitch. I've never looked back and am enjoying polishing up old skills, picking up new skills, and discovering many wonderful tips and tricks through numerous Craftsy classes!
