I've been quilting since 1992 when a quilt shop opened in Manhattan. Quilting hit me like a ton of bricks. I stopped knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, garment sewing, needle pointing. I began eating, drinking and sleeping quilts. I upgraded to a mid-arm, the HQ 16, when my mother died and posthumously gifted me with the mid-arm. I branched out into hand applique a few years ago, after years of saying that "if God wanted me to do handwork, the machine would not have been invented." I love making quilts and gift most of my quilts to Project Linus or other charities. I have not purchased fabric in about three years (except for commissions or special quilts for a wedding gift, for example). My stash still does not appear like it's been used. So, my goal is to further decrease my stash. I also love dyeing fabrics and love the hand of my dyed fabrics. I love the HQ-16 because of the options it provides me.
