I am 55 and recently retired. I love to make quilts. I also crochet. I have tried knitting and it just doesn't stick with me. I learned to crochet from a booklet my mother had when I was about 10. She gave it to me with a small crochet hook and I taught myself to crochet. My first projects were doilies. Then afghans. I started quilting when a friend of mine was taking lessons and I joined in. We got addicted right away. We now have rooms full of fabric, quilting tables, sewing machines, etc. We are always eager to start a new project. It brings us hours of joy and laughter. My friend has moved to another state now, but we are still hooked on sewing and keep each other up to date on our projects. I just added a serger to my sewing room and I believe I can find some quilting projects that this will be great for.
