I am 55 and recently retired. I love to make quilts. I also crochet. I have tried knitting and it just doesn't stick with me. I learned to crochet from a booklet my mother had when I was about 10. She gave it to me with a small crochet hook and I taught myself to crochet. My first projects were doilies. Then afghans. I started quilting when a friend of mine was taking lessons and I joined in.
