Yes people....LOL...at the age of six years old, I became a Barbie Doll Designer!
The following year, Mom showed me how to knit...the infamous garter stitch! This repetitive stitch brought out the childlike phrase again, "I am bored"! LOL.....so nothing ever became of that knitting lesson.
At the age of 10, I began sewing and crocheting my own clothing.
Years later, I began knitting sweaters during my first year of college. LOL...whenever I had an opportunity, "I was knit-ting". (in my Forest Gump voice).
One particular day, I decided to skip lunch and head to my class early, He He He...peace and quiet and I could KNIT!!!!
My professor was astonished that I could knit without looking at my needles. She then asked if I could make her a sweater......and of course, I said yesssssss! LOL
Well! You know the rest of the story.....word traveled and I was knitting sweaters for everyone.
I could not believe it! I was getting paid for something I truly enjoyed!
Alas! Life got in the way of my knitting after graduation....you know, work, marriage, giving birth, etc, etc......LOL
Well! You asked how I got started! LOL LOL
I am not long winded....just love to create smiles also!
